Operations Assistant - The Operations Assistant is responsible for administrative duties that support daily functions of the operations team (including Production & Inventory Control, Purchasing, and Manufacturing Engineering departments).
Responsibilities include extracting inventory control records in Excel/AS400, collecting Kanban cards from shop floor and creating shop orders in ERP, sorting and delivering shop orders, creating serial number plates, and updating and following up on purchase order status. Two years related administrative assistant experience or an Administrative Assistant Associate Degree is required. Knowledge/Experience in word processing (Microsoft Word), spreadsheet applications (Excel), Internet, and email (Outlook) is also required. Knowledge/Experience working in ERP systems is preferred.

Buyer – The Buyer is responsible for the use of tools and resources to negotiate and procure materials at the right time, cost, and quality to meet KNA standards. Specific duties include communication with vendors and internal customers to resolve supply chain challenges, identification and management of cost reduction projects and maintaining inventory to supply production demand. A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration or a related field; a minimum of four years of related buying experience; and knowledge/experience with lean enterprise concepts, JIT and VMI programs is preferred. APICS or ISM certification is a plus. The candidate Must be familiar with steel fabrication and the types of materials purchased by KNA and have a comprehensive knowledge of purchasing, production, and inventory procedures.

Design Engineer – This position is responsible for design and development of components and subsystems based on customer needs, manufacturability, safety, and cost, including development and maintenance of BOMs for new and existing assemblies and products. Proficiency in CAD (ProE/CREO) and knowledge of steel fabrication, welding, and machining is essential. A farm background is preferred. A bachelor’s degree in agricultural or mechanical engineering and ag/industrial design engineering experience is required.

Field Support Representative (Southeast US) – We are currently seeking a Field Support Representative to support dealers in the Southeast US (Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and North & South Carolina) in preventing and solving after sale service issues for products marketed by Kuhn in North America. Responsibilities include serving as the after sales service representative for dealers in the region, responding in-person or via telephone to inquiries regarding questions on after sales service issues, product uses or applications, train dealership personnel on KNA services and service of products, supporting regional sales staff by working farm shows and demonstrating products, and perform field service campaigns. The position requires at least 75% travel in the region.

An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in agricultural mechanics or agricultural engineering technology and knowledge of the ag. equipment industry is preferred. The position requires knowledge and skills in the areas of customer service, mechanics/repair, electronics, hydraulics, welding, and torch cutting. Application knowledge and experience in word processing (Word), spreadsheet applications (Excel), database management (Lotus Notes), presentation software (PowerPoint) Internet, and e-mail is preferred.

Manufacturing Engineer – The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for driving continuous improvement in all manufacturing operations within an assigned product line and establishing and maintaining safe and efficient production processes, with the objective of reducing cost of manufacturing while improving quality. Activities include leading projects to analyze engineering designs, procurement procedures, manufacturing methods, staffing requirements and machine utilization, material routing and handling methods, tool design and application, etc., acting as project leader/liaison and coordinate activities with manufacturing production departments, production/inventory control and design engineering departments, developing manufacturing processes/procedures/work instructions and routings and developing economic justification for capital equipment. A bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical, or industrial engineering and/or five years engineering experience in a heavy industrial environment is required. Technical competency in steel fabrication, welding, machining, or paint finishing and thorough knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes is also required. 3-D CAD knowledge required, Pro-E/Creo is preferred.

Retail Sales Representative – The Retail Sales Representative is responsible for maximizing the sale of all Kuhn, Kuhn Krause and Kuhn Knight products and services at the Lexington, NE retail store location. Regular duties include sales calls and product demonstrations to prospective agricultural customers, response to customer inquiries and training, representation at tradeshows, completion of sales and inventory documentation, and collection of accounts. An agricultural and mechanical background and advanced education and/or experience in marketing, sales, or business is preferred. A valid driver’s license is required and CDL is preferred. Opportunity available at the Lexington, NE retail store.

Second Shift Manufacturing Manager – Under the supervision of the Production Manager, the Second Shift Manufacturing Manager is responsible to collaborate with the functional manufacturing managers to ensure on time delivery, production costs, quality and quantity, methods application, and effective utilization of labor, machines, and equipment during second shift production. Regular duties include daily management of second shift employees, facilitating continuous improvement efforts, and staffing and performance management. A minimum of three years of production supervision and a related vocational or college degree is required. A demonstrated mechanical aptitude, knowledge of manufacturing processes (welding, assembly and paint prep), and cost of quality (i.e. scrap and rework) is also required. Demonstrated knowledge of lean manufacturing/enterprise techniques is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint) is also required. Second shift manufacturing shift hours are Monday – Thursday, 3:15 PM – 1:15 AM.

Senior Product Manager (Hay Tools) – We are currently seeking a Senior Product Manager to manage the product life cycles of current products, analyze business opportunities for new products and provide visionary input for new product opportunities for the hay tool product line. Responsibilities include market and product enhancement research, new product introduction, product training and serving, management of assigned Product Specialists, and serving as the Company product expert in the hay tool product line. A Bachelor’s Degree in Ag/Mechanical Engineering, Ag Engineering Technology, or Agribusiness and a minimum of five years experience in the product management/planning function is required. Experience managing direct reports, delegation of tasks, and prioritization is also preferred. Extensive application knowledge and experience in word processing (Word), spreadsheet applications (Excel), database management (Lotus Notes), presentation software (PowerPoint), planning (Project), Internet, and e-mail is required.

Territory Manager (Florida/Southern Georgia/Southeast Alabama) – We are currently seeking a Territory Manager who will be responsible for the management of all Kuhn product and service sales and marketing activities in the assigned territory (Florida, Southern Georgia & Southeast Alabama) including development of a strong dealer network to achieve market leadership, return on investment, control of assets, and sales objectives. The employee will be responsible for developing and maintaining the dealer network, serving as Company liaison with dealers/customers, leading dealer sales planning to grow territory sales, ensuring dealership sales/service personnel are trained on products and services, and representing Company at farm and equipment shows. The successful candidate will demonstrate his/her ability to be an independent, self-starter through the use of effective communication and organizational skills. A bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering or business and a minimum of five years experience in sales within a dealer-oriented industry is preferred. Knowledge of agricultural and equipment industry, marketing and business management techniques, and communications software (ex: Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, etc.) is required. The position is home office based in the assigned sales territory.

Paint Prep (Full or Part-time opportunities 1st & 2nd Shifts) – This general labor position involves preparation of the unit for the paint process; power washing, scraping, sanding, and material handling. The ability to use basic hand tools is required, with occasional forklift operation.

Painter (1st & 2nd Shifts)This position involves painting parts and units with an electrostatic spray gun while conforming to established quality standards. A vocational diploma in auto body and paint technology, with knowledge of coatings, coating systems, and electrostatic spray coating is preferred. Ability to read basic blueprints and measuring devices and wear a fully enclosed hood type air supplied respirator is required.

Welder (Full or Part-time opportunities on 1st & 2nd Shifts)Seeking skilled welders to weld unit shells, sub-assemblies and components. A vocational diploma in welding or a minimum of two years production welding experience is required. Experience in GMAW and flux cored arc welding, blue print reading and operating material handling equipment is preferred.

Assembly (Full or Part-time opportunities on 2nd Shift) – The position involves assembly and installation of sub-assemblies, parts and options on unit shells. The position requires a mechanical aptitude, the ability to operate a forklift and power tools, interpret blueprints and measuring devices, and perform basic math functions.

CNC Machinist (2nd & 4th/weekend Shift)The position requires set up and operation of machining equipment including various drill presses, manual/CNC lathes and mills. The position requires the ability to operate measuring and material handling equipment, read blueprints and perform basic math functions. A vocational diploma in machine tool and production machining experience is preferred.

Fabrication (2nd Shift) – Seeking operators of fabrication equipment including shear, brake press, punch press, saw and NC backgauge. The position requires the ability to read blueprints, complete fabrication measurements, operate forklift, overhead crane, and sheet lifters. Experience operating fabrication equipment is preferred.

Janitor (1st & 2nd Shifts) – The janitor position includes general office and plant cleaning and light building maintenance such as painting, floor stripping/waxing and carpet cleaning. A valid driver’s license is required.

Maintenance (Full or Part-time opportunities 2nd Shift)Seeking an individual with a strong background in electrical maintenance with at least two years manufacturing maintenance experience and/or a technical diploma in electro/mechanical maintenance. The position will require install, repair and maintain metal fabricating equipment, including CO2 laser and plasma cutting machines, press brakes and shears, and MIG welding systems supporting production operations. Strong skills in industrial electricity, CNC, hydraulics, high pressure air, welding, torch cutting, carpentry, plumbing, and heating are preferred.

Manufacturing Cell Material Handler (2nd shift)Seeking individuals with forklift experience to transport of required cell components from receiving, warehouses & department staging areas. Individual is required to read basic blueprints, maintain and complete accurate documentation & inventory. Ability to use computer warehouse receiving and inventory systems is preferred.

Warehouse Clerk Under the daily direction of the Operations Manager, the employee is responsible for distribution of machines and repair parts, including picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and related documentation. A basic understanding of parts inventory, keyboarding and basic math skills are preferred. The hours of the position are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday. A high school diploma or GED, ability to operate a forklift, and frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds is required for all positions. This position is based at the Columbia, TN Distribution Center.

Product Evaluation Co-op – The Product Evaluation Intern/Co-op performs various product performance evaluation and testing activities, including Kuhn/Kuhn Knight products, competitive product benchmarking and new R& D projects. Current enrollment in an agricultural/mechanical engineering or agricultural engineering technology degree program is required. Knowledge of material spreading, mixing and hay tool technology is preferred. Knowledge and experience in the areas of farm equipment engineering, testing, mechanics/repair, electricity, hydraulics, and welding is also preferred.

Design Engineer Co-op – This position is responsible for design and development of components and subsystems based on customer needs, manufacturability, safety, and cost, including development and maintenance of BOMs for new and existing assemblies and products. Potential projects include plant flow/layout improvement, process/equipment research, fixture design, ECN review, supporting new product introduction, etc. Current enrollment in an agricultural, manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering degree program is required.

Production & Inventory Control Co-op - This co-op position will provide a broad variety of experiences, with the opportunity to participate in sales & operation planning and the creation of the production plan, followed by the master production schedule. Daily activities include processing, Kanban shop orders, collection of data and creation of resultant output graphs, cycle counting, material transactions, and other processes to support manufacturing using our proprietary ERP software. Current enrollment in a Supply Chain Management, Industrial Technology, or similar degree program is required.

Quality Assurance Co-op – In this position, you will have the opportunity to drive continuous improvement in KNA manufacturing operations by working cross functionally with manufacturing management, design engineering, product management, product support, and manufacturing engineering to review and update manufacturing process documents, develop new employee manufacturing training materials, and develop and analyze data collection techniques and metrics. Current enrollment in an industrial technology/engineering, manufacturing engineering/technology, or similar degree program is required.

Product Management (Co-op or internship opportunity available) – The Product Management Co-op/Intern is part of the Product Management team, which is responsible for the management of product life cycles of current products, the analysis of future business opportunities involving new products, development and delivery of product training, and serving as the Company product expert on select lines. The internship position would focus on developing training program materials, market and competitive research, machine set-up and preparation for demonstration and new product introduction, and assisting with field evaluations. Dealer Development Co-op The Dealer Development Co-op is designed for a highly motivated student currently seeking a degree in ag business, business, or communications. The experience will help a student understand the business relationship between a supplier and dealership business entity. A student’s experience can be in one of two focal areas, depending on a student’s interest and skills: planning/analysis or communications/dealer relations. In the first, a student will gain an understanding of the processes surrounding the supplier/dealer relationship from systems that manage the relationship, application and termination processes, and activities that support dealer network planning, such as market research, analysis, producing reports and supporting maps. In the second, a student will gain an understanding of how a supplier supports its dealers through communications, enhancement of tools for conducting business, CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and dealer relations. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills - both written and verbal, be highly organized, self-motivated, and enjoy working in a team environment.
