Design Engineer – A Design Engineer will research, design, develop, document, and provide support information for new products and maintain existing products to ensure meaningful competitive advantages as set forth in the strategic plans. Responsibilities include evaluate product concepts based on real and/or perceived benefits to the customer. Research patents for potential infringements. Develop product design layouts. Analyze design to ensure product will meet life cycle requirements and that stress levels are within acceptable limits. Ensure all requirements are completed to meet prototype and test schedules. Develop and implement product test procedures. Ensure product design meets or exceeds industry safety standards. Ensure products are cost efficient. Ensure product meets drafting, manufacturing, and quality standards. Provide product test data and support information for sales and marketing. Provide information for operating, assembly, and parts manuals. Assist customer service in analyzing and solving product problems. Maintain current knowledge on competitive products and trends in the industry. 16. Maintain current knowledge on engineering related topics including CAD, FEA, new materials, new methods of construction, new testing procedures, etc. Provide task team leadership when required. Education and experience requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with 2 years’ experience as a product designer or product engineer.

Design Engineering Manager The Design Engineering Manager plans, organizes and directs product development teams to meet company objectives for design, new product development and improvement of current product lines by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. Responsibilities include ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organization, as well as external contacts, and with people of different cultures/languages as necessary. Ability to lead teams, provide leadership, and achieve desired success. Follow Kuhn Group guidelines for product development and reporting. Develop, document, or maintain standards, and best practices. Ability to proficiently operate 3D cad system Creo/PDM is preferred. Utilize company MRP system and ECR/ECN software for new products and maintaining old products. Education requirements require a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering with ten (10) years’ experience as a design or product engineer, with a minimum of five (5) years managing direct reports. Knowledge related specifically to agricultural products is a plus.

I.T. Network Administrator The I.T. Network Administrator supports, maintains and evaluates computer networking and telecommunications system. Installs, configures and maintains physical and virtual computers, and servers. Maintains employee network, email and telephone accounts. Responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day operation of computer networks including hardware/software support. Implements data connectivity for local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) systems. Assists in coordinating special projects including network related wiring plans, LAN/WAN hardware/software purchases, and system installation, backup, maintenance and problem solving. Analyzes and troubleshoots the network logs and tracks the nature and resolution of problems. Installs, supports and maintains both physical and virtual network servers and appliances. Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots the Storage Area Network (SAN). Keeps current regarding new hardware/software products for system enhancements. Education and experience requires an Associate’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical certification. Or, 3 – 5 years of Information Systems work experience in a LAN/WAN environment. Industry recognized technical certification such as a Cisco CCNA or Microsoft MCSE preferred.

Product Manager – The Product Manager manages the product life cycles of current Kuhn Krause products, and analyzes business opportunities involving new products for assigned product lines. Responsibilities include identifying competition’s products, distribution system, market share, pricing, strengths, and weaknesses and tracking them on a continuous basis. Continually investigate potential product improvements, enhancements, and features to the current product line to respond to changing market demands. Monitor external research and regulatory activities (Universities, government, etc.) that may alter future trends and requirements. Develop expertise in agricultural tillage and seeding practices and understanding the farmer’s needs for tillage and seeding equipment, implementing market research when warranted. Provide product specifications for new products and product upgrades to product development teams throughout the design and evaluation phase. Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) process for assigned product lines. Develop, coordinate and present product training for Kuhn internal Sales personnel, Territory Managers and dealers at sales meetings, field demonstrations, trade shows, etc. Lead in customer follow-up after the new products have been introduced to the market to insure the product that was designed meets our customer’s needs. Work with the Show Coordinator to provide direction on what products need to be displayed for each target market at shows throughout North America. Support the sales organization by working select farm shows, answering product questions for customers, and conducting field demonstrations of product. Support the creation and development of the price book for assigned product lines. Support pricing strategy based on market conditions, competition, available features, and margins. Education and experience require a Bachelor’s Degree in Ag/Mechanical Engineering, Ag Engineering Technology, Plant Science/Agronomy or Agribusiness and/or a minimum of three to five years’ experience in product management/planning functions. Extensive application knowledge and experience in Office Works is required.

Technical DrafterThe Technical Draftsman is responsible for creating product related technical documents using both illustrations and text. Technical Documents includes operating instructions, assembly instructions, service parts illustrations, and other documents used by Kuhn Krause customers and dealers. Responsibilities include ability to use a 3D Cad system (Pro/E) to create technical drawings. Ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organization, as well as external contacts. Follow Kuhn Group guidelines when creating or updating documents. Develop, document, or maintain standards, best practices, or system usage procedures. Education and experience requires five or more years' experience in 3D cad system (Pro/Ea plus). Experience with or willing to learn desktop publishing (Adobe Suite). Knowledge related specifically to agricultural products is a plus.

Experimental Fabrication An Experimental Fabrication person will perform simple layout operations and fabricates parts and products under direction of engineering by performing the following duties in accordance with Company quality standards. Responsibilities include fabricating assembles components or assemblies for existing and new products. Assists in set up of complete units and components under operational conditions. Fabricates tooling for prototype products and establishes a layout system for producing multiple parts. Operates various types of metal fabricating equipment. Assists in setting up first unit from each production run for check-out. Records test procedures and results and makes recommendations for changes in product or test method. Operates various types of metal fabrication equipment. Occasionally travels to locations to perform repair and service work. Education and experience requires no less than three years in a machine shop running multiple CNC hard metal machines, including single spindle lathes and mills. Complex mathematical skills are required.

Machinists Machinists set up and operate computer control lathes, single and multi-axis spindle drills, punch presses, and laser cutters to cut form and machine metal into parts in accordance with Company quality standards. Responsibilities include the selecting of proper cutting tools and positioning them in the turret, Calculating and setting controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut. Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications, gets first part buy-off. Maintains an accurate count of produced parts. Works under quantity and quality set production standards. Education and experience require a high school diploma or GED and three to five years in a machine shop running multiple CNC hard metal machines, including single spindle lathes and mills. Complex mathematical skills are required.

Material Handler – Material handlers Load, unload, and moves materials in and out and around the plants, to various virtual outside warehouses in the yard, or work site. Responsibilities include reading material requisitions, work orders and following oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. Conveys materials from storage or work station to designated staging areas. Cycle counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on movement forms. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers. Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together. Lifts heavy objects with power hoist, Operates forklift or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and parts. Education and experience require a high school diploma or GED and three to five years in a manufacturing environment or warehouse or shipping and receiving.

Quality Assurance Quality Control Inspectors will ensure that products and services are at their highest quality level and meets or exceeds the quality standards set forth by the customer and/or Kuhn Krause. Responsibilities include the inspector measuring, examining, and testing products, processes, and services against specified requirements to determine conformity. The inspector must be able to use measuring tools such as ruler, tape measure, protractor square, calipers, micrometers, and gauges. They will have the ability to read blue prints, specifications, tolerances, and drawings. Inspectors must be able to work with supervisors to communicate problems and discuss possible disposition and corrective action. Must be familiar with machinery and manufacturing processes and understand quality concepts. Education and experience require an associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school and/or a minimum of three years related experience.

Welder – Robotic and Mig Welder Technicians major focus is directed to manufacturing systems, processes, standards, tooling, and new technology as applied to welding and welding automation which will obtain the most efficient and timely welding process while providing technical support to production operations. Responsibilities include positioning and loading fixtures with parts to perform welding. Fabricate parts by welding various metals. Maintain an accurate count of produced parts, and work in accordance with quantity and quality set standards. Working with Quality to analyze, document, and implement recommendations for correction of process failures. Recommending design concepts for individual parts and processes to improve cost and productivity. Welders must have an understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts, and performs routine preventative or corrective maintenance on robotic systems. Ensures maximum uptime of robotic systems. Education and experience require an Associate or technical degree with emphasis in manufacturing, welding, and/or robotic disciplines and/or a minimum 5 years welding experience in a manufacturing environment. A basic working knowledge of Fanuc 6 axis MIG welding robot or equivalent. Ability to work independently and desire to succeed.
